Animal Behaviour

Violet was in the stable yesterday evening having a groom as we do. And for the first time we were actually playing!
She was properly making me laugh….
I stood in front of her and was bent down brushing the fronts of her legs as she had been wallowing in mud, like she does and was a grubba muffin…
As I was doing this her head came down and underneath mine and gave me what I call a kiss, I thought ahh thats nice, I moved my head she lifted her head over to my left shoulder and did the same, I repeated moved my head and she repeated giving me a kiss on the other side of my face, honestly I was laughing so much while she was doing this, it felt like she was laughing too and having fun, We were having a bonding moment, we were having such a lovely time, so trusting and happy to be in each others company.. Best day.
Many animals exhibit behaviors that strongly suggest a sense of humor, particularly social mammals, primates, and certain bird species. While animal humor is predominantly anecdotal, researchers believe it is closely linked to playfulness, tickling, and social bonding, similar to human laughter.
Horses show they are having fun with their owners through expressive, energetic, and sometimes silly behaviors that indicate trust and affection. These joyful interactions, often seen as a deep bond between human and animal, include mimicking movements, playing, and enthusiastic greetings
